Full description
The Paint Pots snowshoe tour offers an excellent introduction to snowshoeing, blending adventure with the rich history of the fur trade and its influence on Western Canada. Along the way, you’ll hear fascinating stories about Banff’s Indigenous peoples, explorers, and fur traders who traversed the Rockies.
The tour follows an easy trail through the scenic Vermilion River Valley, leading to the Paint Pots, a cultural gem within our National Parks. The mostly flat terrain is perfect for beginners, and you may spot tracks of snowshoe hares, moose, and even wolves as you explore the area. Near the Paint Pots, you’ll be treated to a quintessential Canadian experience with hot maple taffy, adding a sweet touch to this unique winter adventure
