Full description Get ready for a day of exploration and discovery as we tour some of the Loire Valley's most iconic sites: Clos Lucé, Amboise, Château Gaillard and Chenonceau. Meet at the Tours tourist office 15 minutes before departure, where you will be met by your driver.

We will depart at 9.30 AM for a 30 minutes drive to Amboise, following the picturesque road where you will see the troglodyte houses.

Our first destination will be the magnificent Clos Lucé, the residence of Leonardo da Vinci during the last 3 years of his life. This pink brick and limestone manoir is a testament to the multiple genius of Leonardo, who was a painter, sculptor, architect, engineer, musician, poet and scientist. Visiting the Clos Lucé, we realise that his vision was centuries ahead of his time.

After the visit, we will drive for 5 minutes to the Château de Amboise, where we will enjoy a visit and a lunch break lasting approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes. Situated on a limestone cliff overlooking the town, this castle was the royal residence of Kings Charles VIII, Louis XII and François I. During the visit, we will explore the fortifications and defensive fortresses dating back to Gallo-Roman times.

Then, at 1.45 PM, we will head for 10 minutes to the Château Gaillard wine cellar. Here, after a tour of the impressive troglodyte cellars where the wines are made and aged, you will have the opportunity to taste (at your own expense) a wide selection of Loire Valley wines, including refreshing rosés, easy-drinking or complex reds, and whites from dry to sweet, not forgetting the wonderful sparkling wines produced according to the champenoise method.

After the tasting, we will drive for 15 minutes to Chenonceau, where we will enjoy a visit that will last approximately 2 hours. The Château de Chenonceau, known as the ladies' château, witnessed an incredible history full of romance and unexpected events thanks to the likes of Catherine Briçonnet, Diane de Poitiers, Catherine de Medici and Louise of Lorraine.

Finally, we'll make our way back to Tours, which will take approximately 30 minutes.
