This is an exciting adventure tour to the Ilamatepec Volcano crater, a hidden scenic gem. With a height of 2,384 meters above sea level. The Santa Ana Volcano, better known as Ilamatepec, is the highest and most voluminous volcano in the coastal range in the region. It is also the third highest point in El Salvador.

Its geological history dates back about 2 million years, with irregular eruptions, such as the case that Ilamatepec demonstrated its strength in 2005, with an eruption that destroyed vegetation, towns, and crops. The path to the crater is narrow and has a medium difficulty. During the tour, you will find a series of wooden tourist points of interest (viewpoints), where you can admire the beauty of the natural landscape that surrounds the Complex of Lakes and Volcanoes. On the periphery of the crater, the winds are strong and you will be enveloped in clouds. From there you can see the emerald green lagoon inside the volcano. In addition, you will have the opportunity to see a beautiful landscape of Lake Coatepeque, Izalco Volcano, Cerro Verde and the Pacific Ocean.
