General Description From the city of Mendoza, we begin our journey towards Cacheuta. Along the way, we will pass through the charming residential area of Chacras de Coria, passing by General Espejo Square, the church, and the town center. We will also travel along the famous Darragueira Street, known for its vibrant nightlife and various nightclubs. Continuing on Route 82, we will pass through the towns of Las Compuertas, Blanco Encalada, and Colonia Suiza, until we reach the ruins of the former Fader power plant, located in the narrowest part of the Mendoza River, known as the Cajón de Cacheuta. Here, we will make our first stop at a viewpoint, where we can enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.

We will then continue our journey along the Mendoza River, admiring the scenery as we approach the Cacheuta Hotel and water park. Our second stop will be at the iconic Cacheuta suspension bridge, a historic landmark of Mendoza, 140 meters long, which we will cross on foot. From there, we will ascend a winding mountain road to the tunnel that connects Cacheuta with Potrerillos. After crossing the tunnel, we will be greeted with an impressive view of the Potrerillos Dam and its top, a stunning sight framed by snow-capped mountains. We will make a stop at the viewpoint to take in the breathtaking scenery of the artificial lake, which stretches over 10 kilometers.

The route continues along the coast of Lake Potrerillos, an area known for its incredible panoramas. Along the way, we will pass through picturesque towns such as Las Carditas, El Salto, Las Vegas, Valle del Sol, and Piedras Blancas, until we reach the Potrerillos Hotel, where we will make our final stop. Here, you will have free time for walks or to relax and enjoy tea in an unbeatable setting.

The return journey will be via National Route 7, passing through the renowned wine region of Agrelo, famous for its internationally prestigious wineries, such as Séptima Codorníu, Ruca Malen, Belasco de Baquedano, Chandon, Norton, and Decero.
