Departing from our offices in Madrid, enjoy a scenic bus ride of approximately one hour before reaching San Lorenzo de El Escorial. There, you will visit the majestic monastery built in the 16th century by order of King Philip II. This grand complex served as a royal residence, monastery, and pantheon, symbolizing the power of the Spanish Empire. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the monastery houses stunning architectural and artistic treasures. During your visit, explore its interior, including the Royal Palace, the Pantheon of Kings and Infantes, the Chapter Houses, and the Cloister of the Four Evangelists.
Next, after a short ten-minute bus ride, you’ll arrive at the Valley of Cuelgamuros, nestled in the stunning Guadarrama Mountains. Built in 1936, this remarkable site features a 150-meter-high cross, as well as a basilica and crypt carved into the mountain rock. Take in breathtaking panoramic views while exploring its fascinating surroundings.
