El Milongón Show In the heart of a candombero neighborhood (where the Gaboto Conventillo used to be) in Montevideo, you can enjoy this spectacular show with an important musical and choreographic display of candombe, tango, milonga and folklore.
It begins with candombe, the most significant and current manifestation of Afro-Montevideo culture. To the rhythm of the drums, the different characters appeared: the Mama Vieja, the Gramillero, the Escobero and a numerous dance group of both sexes began to make the audience vibrate, during the night innumerable surprises await those who come to this outstanding tourist show with more than 35 artists on stage, including singers, musicians, dancers and typical characters.
Then the tango and the milonga, to the rhythm and breath of the bandoneon, the dancers of the River Plate feeling took over the dance floor. Different figures, cuts and ravines take over the scene, a singer performs a display singing the best known tangos and milongas. Gardel and other great authors seem to come to life within the walls of El Milongón, the smiles of happiness on the faces of each visitor. The passion of tango mobilizes everyone's spirit in a mixture of melancholy and joy.
Continue with Charrúa folklore. A team of country dancers shows us how the Zapateo, malambo with boleadoras and dances with fire daggers are part of this show.
To end the candombe again, it is present, with mulatto dancers and the notorious presence of the banner, the couple of ambassadors and the queen, of course, an intimate carnival takes over the place and the people who are invited to participate to dance and enjoy Uruguay.
