Visit the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba, one of the most visited monuments in Spain, conserving the style from an Islamic Mosque together with the Cathedral. Its construction belongs to the 8th century and it became the second biggest Mosque in the world. You will discover inside a forest full of columns and double arches, the Maqsura, the Mihrab and the impressive chorus located close to the Mayor Chapel. The Jewish Quarter: This is an area of the city where Jewish used to live between the 13th and the 15th centuries. There, you can visit some monuments such as the Synagogue, the Jewish Street, an Arabic market (Zoco) and the statues to Maimonides and Averroes.
Córdoba Synagogue: It is located in the heart of the Jewish Quarter and it is one of the three preserved synagogues from the XIV century in Spain. This temple was built in 1315 by Isaaq Moheb. It contains a courtyard from there you can access to the holy room where you can find the space to keep the scrolls from the Torah.
Mosque Cathedral: The Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba was built since 785 by Abd-al-Rahman I. It’s the first and the best exemple of the Ummayad power in the ancient Al-Ándalus, as well as one of the best exemples of the islamic arquitecture in the whole West until now. It’s has been declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984, so this visit is a must-do in Córdoba.
