Explore the beauty and history of the "Pazos" and their impressive gardens on this charming half-day tour from Santiago de Compostela. The "Pazos", grand manor houses reminiscent of the majesty of ancient feudal lords, are symbols of the wealth and elegance of bygone eras. Built with sturdy stone walls and decorated with proud coats of arms, these pazos are true architectural gems.
During our excursion, we will visit two of the most outstanding "Pazos" within a 20 km radius of Santiago. Firstly, the Pazo de Oca, which dates back to the middle of the 15th century. Here, we will witness the beauty of two distinct types of gardens: the horticultural garden and the geometric garden. We will marvel at the exuberance of the flowers, especially the camellias, as we stroll through these beautiful gardens, which will transport us to another era.
We will continue our visit at the Pazo de Santa Cruz de Ribadulla, whose garden was created between the 16th and 17th centuries. This magnificent garden is home to more than 200 varieties of plants, some of which are centuries old. Immersing yourself in this oasis of greenery is like taking a step back in time, where nature and history intertwine in perfect harmony.
At the end of our visits, we will return to Santiago de Compostela, our minds filled with the beauty and serenity of these marvellous historic gardens.
