Full description The Dordogne Valley is a treasure trove of majestic castles and lush gardens that will transport anyone to fulfil their dreams of feeling like a medieval aristocrat in France. Among the highlights, Château de Milandes stands as an unmissable stop and a focal point of Franco-American history, with links to the celebrated actress, dancer and singer Joséphine Baker. From Broadway to French resistance fighter, she is the only American to have received full French honours at her funeral. Her impressive medieval abode and French gardens are waiting to be explored.

Limeul is the ideal location with its panoramic gardens overlooking the point where the Dordogne and Vézère rivers meet. During the day, you will enjoy time in Limeul, classified as "one of the most beautiful villages in France", where the panoramic gardens offer views of the confluence of the Dordogne and Vézère rivers. Before returning to your hotel, you will stop at the Eyrignac Gardens. Ten hectares of sculpted gardens. A velvety grassy setting welcomes you to 25 acres of pristinely sculpted gardens composed of hornbeams, yews, boxwoods and cypresses, adorned with white petals.

The day begins with pick-up from your hotel in Bordeaux. From there, you will head to Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, an enclave rich in history and architectural beauty. After exploring Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, you will head to Limeul to enjoy its natural charms and panoramic views. Lunch will take place at a nearby venue (not included in the package), where you will have the opportunity to savour the delicious local gastronomy. Afterwards, you will make a stop in Vezac, another jewel of the Dordogne Valley, before heading back to your hotel in Bordeaux, where you will arrive at around 7:00 p.m.
