Full description Embark on a fascinating journey to one of Catalonia's most enigmatic wonders with our half-day tour to Montserrat. From Barcelona, we invite you to discover the majesty of this sacred mountain, where spirituality and history intertwine in a breathtaking setting.

Departing from the comfort of our buses, you will head to Montserrat accompanied by our experienced local guides. Once there, you will have the opportunity to ascend to the centre of Montserrat aboard the picturesque rack railway, enjoying panoramic views that will take your breath away. The rocky landscape of Montserrat, declared a National Park in 1987, will captivate you with its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.

Accompanied by your guide, you will delve into the history of the Monastery of Montserrat and discover the fascinating fusion of architectural styles that characterise its basilica and sanctuary. The spiritual importance of this place dates back to the legendary apparition of the Virgin and child Jesus in the Santa Cova, whose figure, known as La Moreneta, is still venerated in the monastery church. Immerse yourself in the spirituality that permeates every corner of Montserrat, where a community of 80 monks follow the rule of Saint Benedict, and explore the many churches and hermitages scattered around the mountain.

Our guided tour includes a tasting of typical liqueurs and a visit to the Audiovisual Space, where you can delve into the history and culture of Montserrat. After the guided tour, you'll have free time to explore the basilica, visit La Moreneta and marvel at the breathtaking scenery surrounding the monastery. You will also receive a small gift as a souvenir of your visit to La Moreneta.

To complete your experience, we offer you the option to enter the basilica and enjoy a performance by the Escolania de Montserrat, one of the oldest choirs of children's singers in Europe.

During your free time, you can choose from a variety of additional activities, such as visiting the Museum to discover archaeological pieces and works of art from different periods, or exploring the hiking trails that wind through the mountain, offering breathtaking panoramic views, such as the St. Michael's cross.
