Enjoy a quiet felucca ride on the Nile River and discover the largest island of Aswan, the Elephantine Island.
At 9:00 we will pick you up at your hotel or cruise and we will go to the longest river bank in Africa, the Nile. There we will board aboard a felucca, traditional Egyptian boat, and we will head towards the Island Elephantine
This island was a place of great importance thousands of years ago as it represented a natural border between Egypt and Nubia. Even the southern part of the island was a fortified area for many years. We will tour the Elephantine Island with the Spanish-speaking guide, who will explain the history of this place. Do you know why he receives this peculiar name? It is said that the name is due to the fact that this island was an important commercial center of ivory. In addition, we will also visit the Khnun Temple, where we can find one of the three most important nilometers in the country.
After visiting Elephantine Island, we will go back to the faluca, which will take us to the Aswan Botanical Garden, also known by the Nubians as Jet Narty. Here we will discover a multitude of flowers and endemic plants from Egypt before returning to your hotel or cruise at 1:00 p.m.
