Full description
Explore the best of the Boston Freedom Trail, a 2.5-mile trail that passes through 16 significant sites of American history, including the Boston Public Market and the Paul Revere House. As the cultural capital of Massachusetts, Boston is one of the oldest cities in the USA, with a history steeped in revolution and progress. Today, Boston remains a vibrant city, standing out as a leader in the arts, academia, literature, innovation and entrepreneurship. Visiting Boston is like touring a great open-air museum, full of history and opportunities to explore.
On your private tour, you can:
Start at Boston Common, a majestic green space and the oldest public park in the country, perfect for strolling and discovering its charm, especially when it's covered in snow.
Walk the Freedom Trail, which connects sixteen of Boston's most important historic sites along a 2.5-mile trail filled with museums, churches, meeting houses, cemeteries and historical markers.
Visit the Granary Burying Ground, where iconic figures such as Sam Adams, John Hancock and Paul Revere rest, among other great names of the American Revolution.
Make a brief stop off the Freedom Trail to visit the Boston Public Market, where you can sample delicious morsels of fresh cider from the Red Apple Farm, an authentic Boston experience (includes light refreshments).
Explore the interior of the Paul Revere House, the colonial home of the famous American patriot during the American Revolution, which has been recognised as a National Historic Landmark since 1961 (entrance fees included).
Finish your tour in the North End, where you'll catch a glimpse of the famous USS Constitution, a frigate that gained notoriety for defeating five British warships during the War of 1812.
In just a few hours, this private tour will take you to the city's major sites and attractions, including the Boston Public Market and the Paul Revere House. You'll start at Boston Common, America's oldest public green space, dating back to 1634.
Just across the street, you'll find the Massachusetts State House, an impressive structure that is the seat of the Massachusetts state government. From there, the tour continues through Beacon Hill, a charming neighbourhood with cobblestone streets and Federalist-style houses that make it one of the most photographed places in Boston.
Along the Freedom Trail, you'll visit the home of Paul Revere, the famous silversmith who made America's most famous horseback ride. You'll also explore the Granary Burying Ground, the final resting place of several of the founding fathers.
The tour continues with a visit to the Boston Public Market, where you'll enjoy an authentic Boston delicacy, included in your tour. Afterwards, your guide will give you recommendations on where to find the best lobster roll to enjoy on your own. The tour concludes in the North End, where your guide will tell you the history of the USS Constitution, leaving you with all the knowledge you need to continue exploring Boston at your own pace.
