Full description Start your adventure with pickup from one of the four centrally located meeting points in Athens. Hop aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned minibus and enjoy a scenic drive through the Greek countryside on your way to the famous Corinth Canal. Along the way, take in the landscapes as you relax during a seamless transfer to this impressive engineering feat.

Upon arrival, you’ll have 45 minutes of free time to marvel at the views of the Corinth Canal, a waterway that connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. This canal was initially conceived by a ruler of Ancient Corinth, begun by Roman Emperor Nero, and completed in the 19th century by the French. It is a true architectural wonder, cutting through solid rock for 6 kilometers, 23 meters wide, with vertical walls rising 90 meters above the water. Take the opportunity to snap spectacular photos of this masterpiece of engineering, and if you wish, use the restroom or purchase snacks and drinks before continuing to the next destination.

The excursion then continues to the ruins of Ancient Corinth, a city renowned in its time for its wealth and splendid architecture. This historical site was the setting for Greece’s final stand against the Roman Empire. After their defeat, the Romans leveled the city and later rebuilt it as a Roman settlement with theaters, a forum, and imperial temples, with the Temple of Apollo being the only structure left intact.

Once at the archaeological site, you can purchase a ticket to explore the ruins with the help of an innovative virtual reality and audio guide.
