Delve into a two-hour audio-guided independent walking tour, exploring the Temple of Hera, the Temple of Concordia, the Temple of Hercules, and the Temple of Zeus. Agrigento, founded in 582 B.C., boasts a rich history traced back to Rhodian-Cretan colonists from neighboring Gela.

Legend has it that Daedalus and his son Icarus, fleeing from Crete, founded Agrigento "by air." Historically, the city flourished under Phalarides and later under Theron, extending its influence over northern Sicily, reaching as far as Himera.

In the afternoon, our journey continues to Piazza Armerina for an independent exploration of the breathtaking Mosaics Floor at the Roman Villa of Casale, a UNESCO Heritage site. Built in the 4th century AD, this villa was forgotten until 20th-century excavations unveiled its grandeur. Spanning 3500 square meters, the villa stands as a supreme example of a luxury Roman residence. The exquisite floor mosaics, celebrated among antiquity scholars, depict the opulence of the Roman Empire's upper class.

The visit inside the Roman Villa allows for independent exploration, with each room featuring informative boards. Our adventure concludes in Siracusa, with drop-off arrangements determined by prevailing traffic conditions.
