Full description Immerse yourself in a two-day journey filled with historical and architectural wonders, exploring the iconic Mont Saint-Michel and three of the Loire Valley's most impressive châteaux. This meticulously crafted itinerary takes you through unforgettable experiences that will connect you with the history and beauty of France.

Day 1: The Wonderful Mont Saint-Michel and its Abbey

Board our comfortable, air-conditioned coach for a 7:15 a.m. departure from our agency in central Paris. Accompanied by an expert guide, you'll head off the Normandy highway, leaving the urban scenery behind to enter the picturesque French countryside. Around 11:30 a.m., the bus will arrive at the foot of the impressive Mont Saint-Michel. Lunchtime is approaching and your guide will offer you options to savour local delicacies in selected restaurants. Make the most of this time to sample the region's specialities and recharge your batteries.

Once satisfied, start exploring Mont Saint-Michel, also known as the "Wonder of the West". Following the ramparts or the Grand Rue, you will enter this medieval treasure, where museums, shops and old houses create a unique atmosphere. As you climb towards the top, the emblematic Mont Saint-Michel Abbey will capture your attention. This 8th century Benedictine jewel, dedicated to the archangel St Michael, will amaze you with its Gothic architecture. Don't miss the refectory and its garden overlooking the sea. Enjoy the panoramic view from the ramparts and soak up the local atmosphere as you explore the narrow streets, shop for souvenirs and savour delicious crêpes.

At around 4:30 p.m., the bus will pick you up again for Angers, where the Mercure Lac de Maine Hotel (or similar) will welcome you for a night's rest.

Day 2: Loire Châteaux and their Historic Elegance

After a restful night's sleep and a tasty breakfast in Angers, the day begins with a drive to the majestic Loire Châteaux. A brief stop near the Château d'Angers will allow you to admire its imposing presence and listen to the guide's historical notes. A drive of approximately 100 kilometres will take you to Langeais, where your first encounter with the Loire châteaux awaits.

In Langeais, you will be guided through two exceptional châteaux: the oldest keep in France, dating back to the last millennium, and the Château de Louis XI, erected in 1465. The historical setting is brought to life with realistic wax figures, allowing you to immerse yourself in the history of France.

After the guided tour, you will have free time to savour lunch in Chenonceau, about 45 minutes away. Your guide will point out options for you to enjoy at your own pace.

The tour continues to the Château de Chenonceau, a historic landmark on the banks of the Cher River. During the guided tour, you will discover the "Château des Dames", with its unique architecture and history intertwined with influential female figures in French history. The furnished and decorated rooms will give you an authentic insight into life in those times.

The journey culminates at the majestic Château de Chambord, the largest of the Loire châteaux. You will be impressed by its imposing architecture as you follow your guide through the rooms and up the famous "staircase of double revolution" to the panoramic terrace. From there, enjoy a spectacular view of the park while listening to the guide's historical accounts.

Around 8:00 p.m., the bus will take you back to Paris, where this enriching experience full of history, architecture and beauty comes to an end.
