Located just a few meters from the spectacular Iguaçu Falls, in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, the Parque das Aves is a unique place in the world, dedicated to the conservation of birds in the Atlantic Forest. With more than 1,500 birds of 150 different species, it is the largest avian park in Latin America and covers an area of 16.5 hectares, offering a magical experience of close contact with nature.
The tour of the park begins by crossing a small bridge over an artificial lake, where you can see more than 100 flamingos and a parakeet habitat. Moving forward, you reach the first thematic sector, the Vivero El Bosque, which recreates the Iguaçu National Park. In this space, turkeys and pheasants roam freely, creating a natural atmosphere. Then, the tour continues to the Vivero Pantanal, which represents the largest vast flood plain in the world. Here you can see macaws, herons, toucans, chuñas and other fascinating species.
The park also houses the reptile lair, where you can observe pythons, iguanas, alligators and even an impressive anaconda behind thick glass. Then, in the Harpy Refuge, you can admire the powerful birds of prey, seriously endangered, which display a majestic posture.
As you advance, you will discover the Crane Paradise, the Yellow Macaws and the famous Macaw Aviary, home to various species of macaws and parrots. The entire route is perfectly signposted and offers special access for people with reduced mobility. Along the way, you will also find rest areas and toilets for greater comfort.
