If it were up to us, no traveler would miss the wonderful landscapes of rural Holland. We thought that a tour of these four villages was unbeatable, but then we thought, what if you could tour the Dutch countryside at your own pace, without stress, dedicating each village the time that you think they deserve?
Well, that’s what we offer you! It doesn’t matter if you’re more of a photographer, a shopper, or an art lover; like good chameleons, we adapt ourselves to give you the best private tour.
Itinerary:
Zaanse Schans
You have come to Holland to see windmills and we know it, but there is much more. Zaanse Schans is an outdoor museum where life from the 17th and 18th centuries is recreated. Wooden houses and wooden clogs, regional costumes, specific mills … A journey through time!
Edam
It’s not all cheese! Although that might be the most famouse thing about this town, Edam is a fairy-tale like village with real Dutch charm: its canals, its town hall, its small squares. We will visit a cheese factory where, in addition to learning the production process, you will be able to try all the varieties that they produce. Yum!
Volendam
Get the camera ready because this little fishing village looks like something taken out of a movie set. Enjoy the sea breeze on the banks of the Ijsselmeer by strolling along its port and, if you would like a tip, don’t leave Volendam without tasting the local fish. It’s finger-licking good!
Marken
Smooth sailing! To finish, we will embark on the ferry that will take us to the ancient island of Marken. Here we will find more than five centuries of history, just over 1,800 inhabitants, and its own dialect. You won’t find many places with this charm in the Netherlands.
