The history of Saint-Tropez is closely linked to the sea.
At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, Saint-Tropez experienced a new artistic and cultural destination which was the prelude to the tourist craze.
The arrival of Maupassant (writer), Paul Signac (painter) marks the beginning of a trend that will become a new golden age for Saint-Tropez which will become the meeting place for artists in general (painters, writers, filmmakers, ... ).
In the 1960s, Brigitte Bardot bought a property at a time when Saint-Tropez was simply a fishing village. She then began this special bond with the village and started the foundation of the myth of Saint-Tropez.
Today the village is the unmissable destination for famous people, sea lovers, history buffs, art and heritage addicts.
Behind this party place, the village managed to remain real and genuine. Stroll through the picturesque narrow streets and discover the atmosphere of a traditional village.
After about an hour's drive along the highway you will reach Saint Raphael, where you can enjoy a boat trip on the gulf of Saint-Tropez or Port Grimaud.
By avoiding the endless summer traffic jams, we can guarantee that you will have plenty of free time in the village.
You will have a great choice of restaurants for lunch (not included).
Don't miss: the harbour, the old town, the local market on Tuesdays and Saturdays, a slice of tarte tropézienne and why not visit a museum.
After returning by shuttle boat, you will drive back to Nice.
