Chef Eduardo Palazuelos has designed a unique tour of Coyoacán in Mexico City, blending culture and culinary experiences for an enjoyable outing.
Coyoacán, rich in colonial heritage, showcases 16th-century churches, convents, and homes adorned with colorful facades and traditional plazas. The neighborhood boasts a rich artistic legacy, having been home to prominent figures like Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. Coyoacán is known for its relaxed lifestyle, artisanal markets, and diverse culinary scene. Visitors can enjoy traditional Mexican dishes, street food, and international cuisine in charming settings.
We will begin at a traditional Mexican restaurant selected by our chef, where we will taste four different types of mole with tortillas and mezcal. Remember to let us know your spice preferences—just don’t say "I like it very spicy" to a Mexican chef!
Next, we will visit a local fruit market showcasing rare regional products. Adjacent to it, we will enjoy some appetizers or “antojitos” with another mezcal tasting, featuring insights into pre-Colombian gastronomy and regional cheeses. No food course is complete without coffee and sweets; churros are a must on any Mexican visit.
Eduardo Palazuelos draws inspiration from the rich traditions and regional cultures reflected in moles, each defined by local ingredients and family recipes. With an expertly curated selection, this tour promises a delightful exploration of Mexico’s culinary heritage.
