Day 1: Arrival in Quito, Transfer in Arrival in the city of Quito.
Upon arriving at the airport, your guide will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall and will then accompany you to your hotel.
Day 2: Cotopaxi National Park - Baños
In the morning, we will head south to the Cotopaxi province. Following Alexander von Humboldt's description of the "Avenue of the Volcanoes," we'll reach the Cotopaxi region. Explore the impressive Cotopaxi National Park. In the Limpiopungo highland (3,830 m), acclimate and take a short walk to discover the diverse high Andean flora and observe birds. We'll continue by vehicle, reaching an altitude of 4,500 m. From there, ascend to the José Ribas refuge at 4,800 m and walk to the beginning of the glacier. In the afternoon, we'll travel to the city of Baños for accommodation.
Day 3: Waterfall Route - Pailón del Diablo Waterfall - Riobamba
After breakfast, we'll head to the tropics. In the morning, explore the Waterfall Route, known as the gateway to the Amazon rainforest. In this paradisiacal valley, take a leisurely hike and visit the impressive "Pailón del Diablo" waterfall. In the afternoon, continue our journey to Riobamba.
Day 4: On the Inca Trail to Ingapirca – Cuenca City
In the morning, we'll depart south with stops at Balbanera church and Colta lagoon. Continue to the Devil's Nose viewpoint, where the guide will share the history of the train. Follow an ancient Inca trail to Ingapirca, Ecuador's most important Inca fortress. The mostly downhill route will take us from the highest point at approximately 4,000 m to the destination at 3,200 m. Along the way, pass through small mountain villages with a predominantly indigenous population. In the afternoon, arrive in the charming Cuenca, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1999, and explore the colonial city on a fantastic tour.
Day 5: Cuenca - Cajas National Park - Guayaquil
We'll traverse Cajas National Park, crossing the 4,200 m high pass and exploring a beautiful area of mountain lakes with a hike. Pass through various climate zones and vegetation, descending into the tropical lowlands, passing banana, cocoa, and rice plantations. Finally, reach the port city of Guayaquil. Stroll along the Malecón to the historic district of Las Peñas and enjoy the panoramic view from Cerro Santa Ana. End of services.
