Having been picked up from your hotel in Abu Dhabi, you'll cross the vast deserts of the United Arab Emirates in the direction of Al Ain, a historical city on the border with Oman. Your tour of this legendary almost 8000-year-old middle-eastern town will begin in the historic centre surrounded by imposing bastions like Al Jahili Fort. Delve deeper into the area's past at the Al Ain National Museum, where you can discover fascinating archaeological and ethnographic artefacts, dating back as far as the Stone Age, that will paint a picture of past millennia in this remote area. The next stop on your tour of Al Ain will be the Sheik Zayed Palace Museum, which is housed in the former residence of the founding father of the UAE, Sheik Zayed. The palace has been restored according to its former use, and visitors can also enter a replica Bedouin tent in the courtyard, like the one erected by the Sheikh to entertain his guests. The museum will not only leave you with an excellent impression of how the ruler and his family lived, but is also home to an art gallery displaying little-known works by Emirati painters. Following your museum visit, enjoy a typical buffet lunch in a hotel in the city.

After eating, you'll make your way to the outskirts of Al Ain, where you'll discover its famous camel market, located close to the race track where these animals compete. Listen out for lively haggling over the prices of the fastest dromedaries. Leaving the chaos of the market, you'll head for the relative peace of the Jebel Hafeet Mountain for your last stop. This peak will afford you stunning views of the majestic city and the Omani-Emirati border.
